On January 12, 2010 there was a horrible earthquake in Haiti that brought fear to all. It put everything in Haiti upside down. Many of the people in Haiti are either starving, dead or homeless. Millions of people were affected by this quake and someone should lend out a hand and make a donation to save the people of Haiti.
There was lots of things going on after the earthquake hit Haiti, for example people needed homes food, and they were also having construction issues because some of there buildings were knocked down.
Haiti's President René Préval said "Help the people with tents. Create employment so people can buy food in the country. That is what's most important" . They need to focus on what they need done at that time. Lots of people need to pitch in and help these Haitians because if it were them they would want some on to help them. As many as 200,000 people were killed in the magnitude 7.0 quake, which largely destroyed Port-au-prince, and left hundreds and thousands of people homeless, injured and in need of help. Some of the other landmarks the quake destroyed was the Presidential Palace, the National Assembly Building and the main jail. After the earthquake hit, rescue squads brung lots of first aid kits and rushed many people to the hospital. Also after the storm many people slept in the streets, on the side walks, or even on open land because they feared that many more buildings would fall and injure the rest of the people thats left. They say that there buildings are so weak that they wouldn't even be able to stand up in any kind of disaster. The people of Haiti need lots of help. Many people have reached out and helped them but they need a lot more help to rebuild their country and all there people that are in need. People who want to help can also go to a Haiti website and go to the
haiti foundation to help as well.
